Founded in 2019 by Golam Sadeghnia, Oktogrid is built to deliver key insights on an often-overlooked asset: the power transformer. The innovation is recording acoustic signatures of power transformers, and the solution is delivering power transformer intelligence.

Synthetic images to improve anomaly detection in high-voltage infrastructures

The limited availability of real images of rare anomalies represents one of the main challenges in developing artificial intelligence models for the inspection of electrical infrastructures.

Advanced simulation to reinforce the resilience of anti-cascade towers

When designing the transmission grid, reinforcing the resilience of the grid's infrastructure against extreme weather events or exceptional situations that can cause cascading tower collapses is a fundamental criterion to ensure asset integrity. Overhead lines themselves are structured by incorporating reinforced anchor towers distributed along the route, which also play a key role as anti-cascade towers.

Vegetation management near electrical infrastructure is one of the most complex challenges for electricity transmission and distribution companies. This field brings together critical factors such as security of supply, asset availability, environmental integration, and the need to efficiently mobilise human and financial resources.

Elewit and TECNALIA successfully test 50 km quantum communication link to advance towards a smarter power grid

Elewit, Redeia’s technology platform, and TECNALIA, Spain’s largest private centre for applied research and technological development, have conducted a second QKD (Quantum Key Distribution) proof of concept. The trial successfully established an optical fibre communication link spanning approximately 50 kilometres in an industrial environment, connecting two electrical sub-stations located between the municipalities of Itsaso (Gipuzkoa) and Vitoria-Gasteiz (Álava).

Milestones of Elewit’s portfolio in Q1 2026

During the first quarter of 2026, the startups backed by Elewit continued strengthening their growth and their capacity to impact in key areas such as energy, industrial reliability, advanced connectivity, and smart infrastructure. Through strategic partnerships, international recognition, and technological advances, the portfolio has continued positioning itself as a driving force of applied innovation.

Redeia receives an international award for promoting open and collaborative innovation among European TSOs

Redeia, parent company of Red Eléctrica and Elewit, has been named one of the Top 100 Corporate Startup Stars (CSS) 2025. This international recognition is awarded by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Mind the Bridge to the world's most active and impactful organisations in open innovation and collaboration with the startup ecosystem. The award ceremony took place yesterday, 2 December, in Paris during the 10th edition of the Corporate Startup Stars.

From idea to reality: Elewit bets on New Ventures to scale innovative solutions

As part of its commitment to innovation that creates value for both business and the ecosystem, Elewit, Redeia’s technology platform, has developed its own model to drive and scale technological solutions through its New Ventures vehicle. This approach combines internal expertise, collaboration with external partners, and a strong market focus, enabling the launch of new business initiatives such as SafeDelimit and Arin Technologies.

Elewit drives the development of both hyperloop and new electrification technologies deployed by Zeleros

Through its Corporate Venture Capital arm, Elewit supports the development of new business models aligned with the energy transition and Redeia’s strategic goals.

Elewit boosts the activity of its Corporate Venture Capital vehicle with four major operations

Elewit, Redeia's technology platform, has boosted its corporate venture capital (CVC) activity in 2024 by adding three new startups —Splight, Unusuals, and Stellar— to its portfolio of investee companies and by committing as an anchor investor in the Adara Ventures Energy I investment fund. Through these four new operations, Elewit has consolidated its position in the market as a strategic investor in emerging technologies that are key to the sustainable future of the electricity and telecommunications sectors.
