More than a hundred people attended the DALIA webinar organized by Elewit and Redeia's international subsidiary Redinter on September 28th, with the participation of professionals from Elewit, Red Eléctrica and Aerolaser System, who explained how this solution optimizes line inspection processes.

This online event, which aimed to raise awareness of the advantages of DALIA as a solution to optimize the detection of anomalies in line inspection, had an international scope and was attended by more than 120 people from countries such as Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, Germany and Spain, among others. Sergio Jerónimo and Melania Grimaldos, technicians from Red Eléctrica's Line Maintenance Department, explained during this online meeting the context and origin of this solution, how it works and how it is being used in the Spanish transmission grid managed by their company. The webinar concluded with the intervention of Tomás Herrera and José María Luque, CTO and CEO of Aerolaser System, respectively, developers of this innovative solution.

DALIA is the acronym for Detecting Anomalies in Lines Inspection Autonomously. This solution optimizes overhead power line inspections, achieving a higher level of automation in inspection and diagnosis through an image processing solution based on computer vision, artificial intelligence and the creation and use of digital models of the installations using LIDAR technology. This way, it allows a homogenization and standardization of the diagnostic activity of aerial power lines, as well as reducing the work at height by using helicopters and drones in the inspection of aerial infrastructures.

Among other features, DALIA works with data of different types - drone or helicopter LiDAR or image captures-, regardless of how they were obtained. All of them feed the tool from a cloud repository. In addition, it stands out for its accessibility: once the data is available, only an internet connection and access to the application are needed to start working.

This initiative led by Elewit and Red Eléctrica's Line Maintenance department, in collaboration with Aerolaser System -a company owned by our corporate venture capital, which develops innovative technological solutions to help the digital transformation of infrastructures-, was born in 2021 as an internal innovation project. The developments carried out and the results achieved allowed us to lay the foundations of what is now about to be an adaptable solution for all types of industries. Elewit and Aerolaser System are currently working together to bring DALIA to the market.

Projects such as DALIA are part of Elewit's objective, as Redeia's technology platform, to be a catalyst for the Group's technology and innovation, to develop innovative solutions that drive the energy transition and connectivity, contributing to the construction of a sustainable future.
