This approach combines internal expertise, collaboration with external partners, and a strong market focus, enabling the launch of new business initiatives such as SafeDelimit and Arin Technologies.

Designed to transform innovative ideas into applied, profitable solutions, this model allows Elewit to identify the potential of initiatives from their earliest stages and support them until they evolve into scalable solutions —either adopted by Redeia’s business units or by other companies facing similar challenges.

A proprietary methodology to identify potential from the start

To identify New Ventures, Elewit relies on its own methodology that enables the detection, assessment, and scaling of high-potential initiatives from their earliest stages. Using tools like Lean Canvas and specific indicators for each initiative's development stage, we evaluate every proposal based on its technical feasibility, level of innovation, suitability for the Group, and overall market potential.

This progressive analysis helps pinpoint the ‘sweet spot’ of each initiative. Therefore, it balances technological and commercial factors to ensure real impact —whether as a standalone business or as a solution integrated into Redeia’s services.

Flexibility to scale results

One of the key differentiators of Elewit’s New Ventures is their flexibility to scale results and their adaptability to different collaboration models. New Ventures enable value creation through various paths: founding new companies, licensing or monetising intellectual property, taking equity stakes in external firms, or directly marketing services and technologies to third parties.

In this way, Elewit seeks to generate shared value —meeting Redeia’s internal needs by optimising processes and services while also opening new business opportunities with independent market potential.

SafeDelimit: the first New Venture to reach the market

A clear example of this model’s potential is SafeDelimit, a startup that originated from Elewit’s DESPEGA intrapreneurship programme. The company offers an innovative solution for the safe delimitation of work areas in industrial environments, enhancing operational safety and reducing risks.

SafeDelimit exemplifies the complete journey envisioned by Elewit for its New Ventures —from identifying an operational need to developing the technology and creating a fully independent company now active in the market.

Arin Technologies: advancing the digitalisation of the electricity sector

Created in collaboration with Arteche, Arin Technologies marks another milestone in Elewit’s New Ventures line.  

The new company —owned 54% by Arteche and 46% by Elewit— develops and markets software solutions focused on the automation of electrical substations and the management of critical assets. This way, it leverages technologies such as Edge Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

This partnership represents the second major initiative in Elewit’s New Ventures portfolio and strengthens Elewit’s commitment to fostering projects that advance digitalisation and the energy transition within the electricity sector. It also reinforces Elewit’s open innovation ecosystem, which now includes more than 130 partners.
