In today's digital age, where technology drives every aspect of organizations' daily lives, they face growing challenges in the field of cybersecurity. Despite investments in advanced protection systems, people are the cause of 82% of information security breaches suffered by companies, either through the use of exposed corporate credentials, stolen with social engineering (such as phishing), misuse or simply as a result of a human mistake, according to Verizon's DataBreach Investigations Report (2022).

For Elewit, as Redeia's technological platform, cybersecurity is a strategic pillar and one of the key technologies we work with. Redeia's Corporate Security department provides all employees with tools and content which aims to raise awareness and sensitization in cybersecurity as a fundamental measure to prepare employees for cybersecurity threats.

In this context, the need for a human cyber risk management tool that can provide awareness itineraries and measure the state of alertness of users became evident, so this need was transferred to Elewit, and the team conducted an ad hoc scouting for it, where Kymatio was identified as the ideal platform to perform this task.

Kymatio facilitates continuous employee awareness through its platform, by assessing the needs of users while providing a risk management tool with metrics, evolution over time and action plans.

In 2021, Redeia conducted a pilot with Kymatio to evaluate the platform. To this end, a sample of 200 employees was taken to individually measure the alertness and behavior of employees in the face of social engineering attacks. In addition, participants faced other situations related to cybersecurity, dealing with different topics, such as data protection, communications and password management, among others.

The high participation rate (72% of those enrolled completed this cybersecurity awareness program) and the ease of use of Kymatio proved to be positive for the conclusions of the pilot. With these results, Redeia's Corporate Security team confirmed that Kymatio provides a solution to prepare employees for threats and is able to measure their cybersecurity alertness, making the company's human cyber risk management visible.
